PRESS RELEASE – Launde Road Park – PRESS RELEASE
ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS FOR MARKFIELD !
The Parish Council has been working hard for Markfield over the past twelve months and the fruition of their hard work and voluntary time have paid off, finally completing the path around Launde Park making the park much more accessible for users.
Due to their competence and budgeting, Markfield Parish Council were able to secure a grant from Hinckley and Bosworth’s Rural England Prosperity Fund, taking away in part a financial burden to residents. Markfield Parish Council would like to thank HBBC for their support, MBG Group for carrying out the work and a special thank you to Cllr Klaus Senkpiehl, who not only started this project many years ago but has also overseen the project when works were undertaken.
Wayne Hadley, Regional Director from MBG Group said “ As the grounds maintenance contractor for Markfield Parish Council, it was a pleasure to undertake this job and it is already having a positive effect on the community”
FOOTPATH CLOSURE – Chitterman Way to Bradgate Road, Markfield – commencing on Monday 13th May 2024
Leicestershire County Council (LCC) Highways has agreed to a temporary traffic regulation at the above location.
A footpath closure is required from Chitterman Way to Bradgate Road, Markfield commencing on Monday 13th May 2024 for five days for public safety to allow LCC to facilitate footpath patching works.
The proposed diversion route will be via: Bradgate Road, Chitterman Way, Markfield and vice versa.
During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed here

Footpath closure from Woodland Close to Chitterman Way, Markfield – Wednesday 8th May 2024
Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location.
The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council and their contractors to facilitate footpath patching.A footpath closure is required on Woodland Close to Chitterman Way, Markfield from the junction with Chitterman Way for 65m east on the 8th May 2024 for 1 day.
The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: The Chase, Chitterman Way, Markfield and vice versa.
During the closure, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed here

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location.
The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate footpath patching and any other associated work to the highway.
A footpath closure is required from Roecliffe Close To Warren Close, Markfield on the 7th May for 1 day.
The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Roecliffe Close, Linford Crescent, Warren Close, Markfield and vice versa.
During the closure, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed here

Neighbourhood Link – £6.7 million lost to Ticket Fraud in 2023
Action Fraud, the national fraud and cybercrime reporting service, has launched a ticket fraud awareness campaign, warning people to be alert to fraudsters trying to catch out people planning for popular and sold-out events. Last year more than 8,700 people reported they had been a victim ticket fraud, with a total of £6.7 million lost. This works out to an average loss of £772 per victim.
